Waking Your Crosley
for the Season

A start-to-finish checklist for bringing your Crosley back to life after a long winter's rest.

Before You Begin

Work through these in order. Each section builds on the last — engine, then battery, then spark, then fuel — so by the time you turn the key, you've already ruled out the usual culprits. Tap any line to check it off as you go.

Preparing the Engine

Do You Have Spark?

The simplest way to check is an in-line spark plug tester. It connects between the spark plug wire and the spark plug and works on any cylinder.

From the Toolbox

Harbor Freight's "Pittsburgh" in-line spark plug tester runs about $6 — a good little addition to your kit.

Condition of the coil & ignition points

If needed, clean any contact pitting with a clean point file — being careful that nothing (dirt, grease, etc.) gets onto the points.

Do You Have Fuel?

Final Check — All Fluids

6
